  • The Sound Room at Public Records 233 Butler Street Brooklyn, NY, 11217 United States (map)

Live show with pianist-vocalist-composer Samora Pinderhughes, featuring music from his film/album Grief.

Public Records’ ‘Artist in Residence’ program invites some of New York City’s most groundbreaking musicians to dive deeper into their work and to develop, curate, + perform in a series of live evenings in The Sound Room for a three-month period. This program is presented seasonally [in fall + spring] and provides a platform for musicians to totally immerse themselves in our space and share new music, ideas, + experiences with an intimate audience.

For its inaugural iteration, Samora Pinderhughes brings “3 Questions [or making space for everything that’s happening]” to The Sound Room. Comprising of three shows over the course of the fall season, the first being the most pared down sonically and inviting guests including the Argus Quartet, Dani Murcia, Elliott Skinner, Jehbreal Jackson, Joshua Bennett, among others to be announced.

Limited tickets will be sold at the door.

In accordance with NYC guidelines, all audiences will be required to show proof of vaccination + ID for Sound Room entry. Some examples of proof of vaccination include the NYC COVID Safe App, Excelsior Pass, CDC Vaccination Card [or photo], NYC Vaccination Record, or an official immunization record from outside NYC or the U.S.
