We understand that making and uploading videos can be difficult due to devices and internet connectivity. To this end, if you need to substitute video portions with written responses, please contact us at argusquartet@gmail.com to briefly explain your circumstances and we will be happy to accommodate!

NOTE: If accepted, student agrees to write a new composition for the assigned instrumentation (string quartet – 2 violins, viola, cello – OR instrumentation within string quartet, e.g. violin solo, viola/cello duo, etc.) to be workshopped and premiered exclusively by the Argus Quartet during the 2021 Composers Institute. The piece may be up to 7 minutes in length and must be submitted by August 1, 2021.

Full Name, Age, Grade, and School How do you identify culturally? We want to learn more about how you self-identify. Describe the community you reside in and things you enjoy about your community. Please give a brief background of your experience in music/composition. (When did you start composing, any lessons, past courses, who are your inspirations, etc?)
